~ Becoming a Bostonian
Hi Friends!
As promised I am going to share with you the tail of me, Saint Norbert Liv, Becoming A Bostonian. We are going to go way back to the beginning…
So, my blog is titled “Tail of a Chorkie.” What the heck is a Chorkie?! Me, I say, me! I am a Chorkie. I was born to a mom Chihuahua and a dad Yorkshire Terrier. Smoosh ‘em together and voila! You get me, a Chorkie. Both of my parents are quite small and I am super small, but with a big heart and even bigger personality. I was born all the way across the country from where I live now, in a wildly fantastic place called Stubby Acres, in California! Date of birth: March 24, 2009
When I was just a little guy, okay a littl-ER guy, I was really dark colored and looked like a raccoon. Lots of people wanted to take me home, but my lovely care-taker held on to me to make sure I was perfectly healthy and matched to the right new momma. I appreciate that! Man, I don’t wanna go to a place where I could get lost, stepped on and squished or eaten by another pet :)
One day, my care-taker received an inquiry from an online ad from a girl (Julie) who lived out in Boston. Everything seemed to be a perfect match for me and Jules. She had never even met me but knew, deep down, to follow her intuition and take a leap of faith.
Before I knew it, I was back at the doctor in California for my final check up and then sent on my way to MA. Becoming a Bostonian I certainly was. Yeppers. A little Chorkie on a huge airplane by Continental Airlines. I was packed up with some food, water, a blankie and my froggy toy for the trip.
During the flight, I mostly slept – but I’d wake up once in a while when the plane went bump. Oooh, how I was excited to get to my new home, and nervous. But get this, I had to make a stop in Newark, New Jersey before I got to Boston. I left Stubby acres at 5am or something nutty like that and arrived in Boston at 6:40pm.
Wowwwie was I ever so excited to see my new momma, and she to see me. I think perhaps she was nervous too because I didn’t even get out of my crate until after we took a taxi back to my new home. Then it was love at first hug. Me and Jules, Jules and me. Takin’ over the world together, one smile at a time. And that’s it!
I am so thankful to everyone in California for finding the best new home for me. And now drumroll please, here are some pictures from my first day as a Bostonian and the start of an amazing Tail!
My very first picture with Julie, at the airport. Look at my tongue!

And here is me right after I got to my new home, an itty bitsel scared…awww and there is froggy on the bottom left

Little guy up on a big bed!

This is one way I addressed it.
Julie, you and Norbie are a perfect match. You were lucky to find each other. Hope you both have a long, happy and healthy life. Love your website!

Nana
